Calen Castle
–
“But on the way, I learned that other visitors had arrived before us.” Duke Kiellini mentioned Marquis Anais' unexpected visit.
“Yes sir.
I hope you don’t feel uncomfortable.”
“I have nothing uncomfortable.
I think it's a little weird because we rarely go in and out... Oh, I interrupted you.
Keep your meal.”
“No, I’m done.
It seems that Manol's fame is also in his ears.
I can't believe you're visiting on purpose like this.”
“Yes.
Once I arrived in Ricaren, I planned to stop here first.”
When Duke Kiellini said goodbye to him with the words
‘Let’s meet at the castle later’
, and entered the bottom under the guidance of a waiting staff member.
Oswald politely pushed the man away from behind and called the manager to ask for his bill.

When Oswald's elegant carriage arrived at the gate, the captain of the guard approached for inspection and greeted him.
“Are you back?”
“You are doing a good job.
Don’t make a mistake and be attentive to him politely when Duke Kiellini arrives.”
"Yes sir."
The carriage entered the castle after being seen off by the captain of the guard, ran hard and passed through the inner gate.
Oswald lifted the chair in front of him and helped Duke Martin to sit down.
While the Duke swore and managed to get out of the compartment under the velvet-covered seat, Oswald's servant took off his coat, placed it carefully on the chair, and entered the place where Martin was lying.
“Your Excellency, we are about to arrive.
Thank you for your hard work.”
“This is more than I thought.
I don't know what's happening all of a sudden.
What kind of man did this to His Highness?”
Oswald laughed while Duke Martin grumbled.
“But I'm glad you were on your way to Bertino.
Take off your jacket and put this on.
I think it will be a little small, because it is my servant's clothes.”
The Duke of Martin, who had just received the gray uniform that the servant had taken off, took off his coat and changed it.
“When we reach the main castle, I will get out and the driver will leave you at the private entrance for the servants.
Albert's servant will be waiting there, so follow him.
Unfortunately, since you arrived earlier than your luggage, I thought I would lend you my clothes.”
Oswald burst into laughter as the Duke shook his head in fright at the final words.
“I can't help you since you were so hasty.
It's wrinkled, but you'll have to wear the same clothes you were wearing.
I want you to go down to the hall as soon as the servant tidies up the clothes.”
The Duke nodded to Oswald, who spoke so seriously compared to when he laughed.
The carriage arrived at the main castle as the two men talked about what might be happening when they walked down the hall.
“You don't have to leave.
I’m going out alone, so drive your wagon to the back door.”
Oswald got out of the carriage and deliberately ordered him to enter.
When the duke, who pretended to follow him as his servant, sat down again, the carriage started again, as instructed.

Killian decided he couldn't take any longer.
If Duke Martin didn't arrive in time and testify, he would have to accept Lady Anais' false testimony.
It was clear how Lady Anais would act after seizing the opportunity of the day, but he was able to endure it to save Juliet.
Before Lady Anais proposed false testimony, he also worried about getting Juliet out of prison.
But no matter how much he tried to reassure himself, he couldn't bear to be angry about the situation.
Killian looked at the woman holding her bruised cheek in front of him.
‘Whose plan is this?
What’s the point in this, harming my own maid?’
He kept thinking about the idea that had been constantly hovering over his head since yesterday: “I won’t kill this criminal easily.” Even Lady Anais tried to take advantage of the opportunity, but he also had no intention of forgiving her.
It was a moment when Killian, finally determined, tried to turn his eyes to Christine, who looked at him expectantly.
The hallway door opened after breaking the silence.Oswald, wearing yellow and blue clothes, protested loudly after entering: “Oh no!
Your Highness, you promised to wait until I return.”
Count Valerian looked at the Viscount and said disapprovingly, “I was forced to start quickly because Viscount Chaister visited His Highness without his permission.”
“Viscount, did you come here without waiting for His Highness’s judgment to protest what happened to your daughter?”
When Marquis Oswald abandoned his soft-spoken attitude until now and attacked harshly, Viscount Chaister exploded with suppressed rage.
“It’s too much, isn’t it?
My daughter was severely beaten by His Highness's maid.
This was even by a commoner!
But how can I stay calm as a parent?
Is it so wrong that I came here to ask His Highness to kill the maid?
I was afraid he might forgive her, just because she was his maid.”
“The Viscount, I think he is thinking about something wrong.
Do you think His Highness should take responsibility for this, or would he forgive her just because she is his employee?
You are also a matter of His Highness.
In the eyes of His Highness, they are all the same subjects under him.
So, do you think he would reward you for what your maid did, or take responsibility for what she did?”
Oswald shook his head as he was stunned.
Killian raised his hand to stop him when the viscount opened his mouth, as if in protest.
“No!
I'll question him later about his own cheeky idea.
Although the two's claims are so tense, I will proceed with the maid's punishment as requested by Chaister's family, determined to have more credibility following Lady Chaister's claims, according to the reports of the knights who were there yesterday.”
Sylvia's face lit up at Killian's sentence.
As her anxiety gradually stabilized, she could lift her head proudly and look at Killian for the first time.
She was thrilled to be able to serve this stunning man more closely now.
Meanwhile, Christine was embarrassed by Killian's response.
When he called her here, she thought he was definitely trying to go through with what she said in the morning.
As she tried to move forward, thinking that she couldn't just miss this chance, the hallway door opened once again.
“Your Highness, I was lying down all day because I wasn’t feeling well, so I only heard that the verdict is being held in the hall regarding the case of what happened last night.”
In the deep, resonant voice, Killian looked at the door and shouted with delight, “Duke Martin, are you okay?
I’ve been worrying about you.”
“I'm fine, thank you for your concern.
I think I was a little tired from the long trip.
I had a good rest and now I'm fine.”
“It's a blessing, but you're not resting anymore to get here on purpose.
Do you have something to say?”
Standing in front of Killian on the other side of the hall, Duke Martin bowed politely.
“Yes, Your Majesty.
I came to see you, but they said you were here because of the verdict on what happened yesterday.
The sentence was so strange that I asked about it and discovered that it was exactly what I had witnessed.
I went to bed thinking it wouldn't be a problem for the knights to come running, but things got weird.”
Duke Martin commented on the story of yesterday's situation that he had heard from Adam.
“What was strange?”
When Killian asked back, Duke Martin looked at Sylvia.
What I saw was a person in a black hood hit the skinnier of the two people he found and then ran away.”
