Calen Castle
–
She decided so, but was still worried that the Marquis wouldn't be able to save her.
They were his first tears since the death of his mother Stella.
She thought:
‘What should I do if my eye makeup is removed?’
But she was also rebellious,
‘I don’t care as I may die soon.’
she fell asleep, exhausted, and suddenly her boss woke her up.
“Your Highness is the best.
Thank you.
I didn't really hit her.
Trust me.”
Killian unexpectedly hugged Juliet, who relaxed and cried.
As he hugged her crying body tightly, he touched the thin frame under the thick cotton fabric.
Many times, he patted her back gently with a sad heart, and her body in his arms retreated in surprise, as if realizing something.
“Your Highness, I’m sorry.
I must have gone crazy with joy.
Please forgive me.”
Killian held Juliet silently and calmed her as she apologized with a bow, patted her small head as she lost her spirits and bent down.
Surprised by the friendly touch, Juliet looked up, raising her thick glasses, and he smiled at her funny appearance.
‘She’s so ugly, but why is she so cute?’
Once again, he patted Juliet on the head and heard Oswald call him from behind.
“Your Highness, let’s go.
It’s been a while.” His Highness was hugging a maid in prison.
Oswald shook his head in disbelief.
“Juliet, wait a little longer.
I’ll get you out of here before tomorrow.” Killian stroked his hair one last time and Juliet watched him leave the prison.
The cell door was locked again with a rattling sound.
She clung to the bars in her anxious state and saw the back of her master walking under the direction of the knight.
Staring at his solid back until she couldn't see, she crawled back into the corner and leaned back against the wall, muttering to herself:
‘He was bad, but he wasn’t bad either.
He is a good employer, but unfortunately I cannot continue working because the working environment is bad.’
She felt that she didn't need to run away as quickly as before, but she was scared of working in this Calen Castle.
This place had put a person in such a trap for no reason, it wasn't right for her.
Julieta decided to hurry up and find another job as soon as the new employee arrived and finally took over the position.

“His Highness’s maid was put in prison for beating a noblewoman?”
“Yes, miss.
She is a private maid that His Highness brought from Austern, and she is a commoner.”
“Is she a commoner?
Why the hell did he hire someone like that?
When did this happen?” She asked the maid if that was why he left in the middle of dinner.
Penny replied, “I think it was time you stayed in the garden for a short walk rather than returning with the marquis.”
After dinner, Christine returned with her father, Marquis Anais, and took a walk through a garden connected to the main castle.
The reason she couldn't have returned to the outer castle was that she would have encountered the Prince again, and she saw knights running away.
She thought it had nothing to do with her, so she continued carelessly.
“How can she hit a noblewoman, even if she is His Highness’ private servant?
How could he have kept such a maid by his side?” Christine said as if amazed, and took a sip of the tea Penny poured.
“Miss, I’m afraid His Highness is in trouble.
It happened the first day he came back.
In particular, he did so to the second daughter of the Chaister family, who served the Principality of Bertino since the beginning of the country's foundation.
What the hell happened?
Did she act badly because she didn't know what she had to fear while serving His Highness?
A maid’s actions show her master’s faces, and the Prince must be in a very bad mood.”
Christine looked at Penny, who was constantly chatting, as if she wasn't that kind of maid.
“Yes.
His Highness's dignity will be harmed if it's just a servant's fault.
Furthermore, I heard that Prince Francis and some high-ranking aristocrats from Austern will be visiting soon to watch the summer hunt, so how scandalous will it be?”Christine, who still thought that this couldn't be happening, said in a dark and damp voice:
“What a defect for such a perfect and beautiful man!
This shouldn’t happen.”
Christine seemed to have decided to do something and suddenly stood up, while Penny looked surprised.
"Miss?"
“I will see His Highness now.
Tell Count Valerian that I will see him.”

“You mean to say that Lady Anais has something to say about what happened yesterday?”
Killian was in good posture without any distractions even though he sat all night.
Valerian replied politely to him, with the feeling that the prince was more cunning than yesterday.
“Yes, Your Majesty.
I was told she had something to say about the maid work that happened yesterday.”
“Is she a witness?” Oswald was discouraged and straightened up.
Judging by the Prince's actions the night before, he seemed to care a lot about the trapped maid.
Of course, he wasn't sure if it was a matter of affection between a man and a woman, but it was clear that he wasn't thinking of her as an ordinary maiden.
Oswald, who valued inner beauty as much as outer beauty, thought there must be a good reason for the prince's attention.
What's more, the maid's ugliness wasn't as offensive as Adam's.
He couldn't do anything with his huge body, but if he took off his ugly glasses and trimmed his wiry hair, his appearance wouldn't be so bad.
His piercing eyes, unparalleled in beauty, took in Juliet's straight forehead, narrow jaws, and perfectly curved lips.
‘Oh, if His Highness hadn’t stopped me, I could have checked the eyes beyond those thick glasses.’
Either way, with some money and effort, it would be easy to make her look like His Highness's concubine.
His taste would be put on the chopping board, but no one would dare mock the man who would be emperor long before him.
Oswald looked at Valerian with bright eyes, making plans.
“I don’t think so.
She asked me in detail about what happened yesterday.” Oswald became irritated when Valerian shook his head, as if she weren't there.
“I'm so distraught.
So what the hell does she want to talk about to see His Highness in the morning?” Oswald, who had been tormented by Christine and Viscountess Morbido until Killian arrived at Castle Calen, was unable to give Lady Anais much credit.
The answer to the question came from Killian.
“I'll know it when I see it.
Bring her.”
After Killian's permission was given, Valerian ordered the knight outside to bring Lady Anais to the outer castle.
After tea time, the knight who had gone to fetch Lady Anais returned.
“Your Highness, have you been at peace all night?
As soon as I woke up, I heard something surprising and ran here.”
Christine had tied her brown hair delicately and wore a sky blue dress that matched her eyes.
She bowed deeply to Killian.
“What about Lady Anais?
Did you sleep well?
I wonder what made you run to me as soon as you woke up.”
Christine, with a slight rosy blush on her cheeks despite her casual words, sat on the sofa under Valerian's escort.
“It’s about your maid.
I was really surprised to hear that this morning.” She took a deep breath with her hands on her chest as if it was a real shock, and then spoke again.
“It’s nothing more than being arrested for attacking an aristocrat.
It’s a big loss to your prestige.”
“Thank you for your concern.” When Killian frowned, as if she were just here to say such a greeting, Christine hurried over.
