Calen Castle
–
The banquet hall in Castle Calen has opened after a year of silence.
Killian was sitting at the long table in the middle of the hallway.
To his right was the Anais family, and on the opposite side were Marquis Oswald, Count Adam, and Count Valerian.
The remaining places were occupied by nobles from Bertino.
The participants cleaned the fish plates and the main dishes were served.
Marquis Oswald, who spotted the nobles' private servants and maids waiting by the wall, asked as the hall became in disarray, “I don't see Your Highness's maid.
Where did she go?”
Killian frowned in disapproval at the question, but Oswald was just waiting for an answer, without any consideration for him.
“I asked her to do something, so she’s in the room.”
Killian attended the dinner with Albert's servant at the dissuasion of Adam, who did not want Juliet's appearance commented on.
He was in a bad mood.
Furthermore, his nerves increased due to Lady Anais, who looked at him and tried hard to talk to him more.
The woman's actions became bolder when she saw him covering up his irritation and responding as softly as possible, while the blood vessels on Killian's forehead began to stand out so clearly as to be visible.
As Oswald felt increasingly anxious as the atmosphere seemed to be crossing the line of danger, he noticed the light touch of Lady Anais' hand on Killian's, as if it were a coincidence.
When it was repeated a few times, Killian finally exploded in anger.
“It’s…”
“Your Highness!
I had a quick report to give you, but I forgot.
We’re almost done with our meal, so I’m sorry, but I’d like you to spare me a moment.”
Oswald quickly stopped Killian's anger, which was about to explode.
When everyone's eyes turned to them at her scream, Christine's hand, which had been encouraged by other kindnesses before, and which had been trying to approach Killian a little more intimately, jerked back.
Killian was barely calmed by Oswald's desperate look at him.
“Okay.
I'm leaving here now, so enjoy your meal.
Adam, Valerian, Oswald, follow me to the Oval Office.”
When the prince stood up, everyone in the dining room also stood up and bowed.
Christine, looking anxiously at the back of Killian, who left without looking back, felt sorry, even without knowing that she would have disgraced herself in public.
It was worth going to Bertino with his hard work.
With Killian's appearance, which was different from her cold and indifferent attitude in Austern, she smiled faintly with excitement and hope, and decided that she would act a little more aggressive.
Juliet cleaned up the mess in the bathroom and prepared a bed for the prince when he left for dinner, and then left the room for dinner.
Juliet's steps were very quick, not knowing the evening, as she had been expelled from the room without finding Sir Albert on the orders of the Baroness.
If she couldn't eat on time again this time, she would have to hold off on eating until tomorrow morning, and she was in a hurry because of that.
She ran down the stairs that led to the first floor and quickly headed to the maid's room.
As she hurried down the dark path, she heard a sudden call for her.
“There, wait.
Would you like to listen to me for a while?”
Juliet looked back with a grimace at the thought of the Baroness she had met in that place during the day and saw a beautiful woman standing there.
“Did you call me?”
The woman in front of Juliet, who was waiting for her to make a fuss about her appearance, spoke indifferently: “You must be His Highness’s new maid, right?
Are you going to eat?”
“Yes, that’s right.” Juliet responded quickly and tried to go on her way because she thought she would be late for dinner.
“You can only eat at fixed times in the dormitory dining room.
If you can't make it at that time, you should go to the maids' dining room in the main castle.
It is a leftover from nobles and knights, so it may be low in quantity and not have many varieties.”
Juliet was deeply moved by the woman in front of her, who spoke to her tenderly, without laughing or surprising.
"Thanks.By the way, where is the dining room in the main castle?
I can't guess because it's too big.
Can you tell me which direction it is?”
Juliet's polite question made the woman in front of her smile.
“I was going to dinner.
Follow me.”
Juliet did not think of herself as a maid, because she did not wear a uniform, but she seemed to have as high a position as the Baroness and her followers.
While thinking about what to call such a complicated system of positions, unlike the one on Harrods Street, the woman took the lead after signaling Juliet to follow her.
“Huh?
Did I just walk past the entrance?”
The woman turned slightly at Juliet's question.
“The maids’ door is over there.
The dining room is closer to that side.”
Juliet nodded at the kind comments.
She had vowed to act prudently in accordance with her position, but she returned through the main gate without any worries.
She mumbled: Anyway, I'm still not used to this society with a class system, and thought that she would have to be more careful if she wanted to live a long and fine life.
Suddenly, someone blocked them.
“Oh my God, who is this?
Isn’t that Sylvia?”
A figure in a dark dress and hood appeared, pretending to know the woman in front, and slapped her abruptly across the face.
Juliet was looking at them, as she wanted to know what it was about, and this time the newcomer grabbed the head of the woman called Sylvia and began to hit her violently, shaking her head mercilessly.
As the frightened Juliet jumped up and stopped her, the fallen woman screamed with a deafening sound.
The knights on guard rushed towards the commotion.
As the clanking of the armor approached, the mysterious figure suddenly fled.
The knights arrived as Juliet smoothed her clothes and lifted the woman who had fainted and was unable to move.
“What’s going on?”
At an important moment, when dinner was being held to celebrate the monarch's return and visiting VIPs, this commotion happened, so a bitter interrogation fell over the uproar.
“Suddenly, a woman appeared and hit her hard.” Julieta pointed to the side where the hooded figure fled and tried to explain.
Suddenly, the woman who fell stood up and said to the knights, crying bitterly: “No, she is lying.”
“This maid hit me.
She asked me where the maids' dining room was, and I was in the middle of guiding her, but suddenly she pushed me away and started hitting me severely.”
Surprised by the woman in front of her, Juliet screamed in dismay.
“What are you talking about?
Why are you lying?
I didn’t do that, did I?”
‘Was she hit on the head?’
She shook the woman's shoulders as if she were going to wake up, and a hard hand held her back.
“Are you sure you were hit by this maid?”
“Yes, that was it.
I was on my way to guide her to the dining room when I learned that she was a new maid for His Highness.
As soon as I passed through the main castle's entrance door, she asked me why I was dragging her to the wrong place, and suddenly she started hitting me.
It's a crime against a noblewoman since she hit me, Viscount Chaister's daughter!
Please punish her severely.”
Julieta couldn't believe what had happened in a second.
“Take her.”
She was taken to the basement prison for allegedly shaking her fist at the noblewoman without excuse.
Juliet, trapped in her cell, was devastated and sat on the floor.
She assumed that the other was a woman of high position, but did not know that she was a daughter of the viscount's family.
She couldn't understand why that kind woman, who had shown her the way, suddenly changed and placed the blame on her like that.
