The principality of Bertino
–
Killian, who turned around in his stripped robe, smiled sharply when he saw a dark face with large glasses turned away.
All he wanted to do was mock her when she was so anxious and avoiding his gaze like that.
Killian walked towards his own maid, lifted her chin with his fingers and made a bluff as he stared into the eyes beyond her glasses.
“When you are with me, always look at me.
Don’t avoid my gaze.”
Killian's self-confidence, who seemed to have no shame in his body, was hateful, and Juliet responded with a pout: "Yes, Your Highness."
As soon as Killian left the room in his robe, he slammed the bedroom door shut and headed to the couch where Count Adam was waiting.
“Adam, you didn’t have to come in such a hurry.”
“You said you would visit the mine and the jewelry stores.
I think I’m with… Your Highness?”
Killian, who gracefully greeted the Count, suddenly turned around and pushed Albert, who was about to enter the room before his greeting ended.
Albert, who had been pushed so hard, barely recovered from staggering, looked at Killian in surprise.
“Your Highness, what the hell is wrong with you?”
“Why are you coming into the room?”
“I have to ask the maid to make tea.
There is no point in sleeping without waiting for Your Highness.
I'll have to scold her.”
“She’s not sleeping.
She got up and went to change her clothes.
And tell your servant to make tea.”
Like a gatekeeper protecting a treasure, he stood there looking at him with fierce eyes, and Albert's eyes shot up as if this was suspicious.
“Your Highness, why didn’t you let me in sooner?”
Killian, who stopped at Albert's questioning, lost his temper abruptly.
“No, so, you're naked and would you feel good if someone told you you were coming in?”
“Your Highness, I have been with you since you were in diapers.
If I walk into your room, when will your appearance matter?
When I couldn’t get in and out of your room, it was because there was a woman in the room, not because of your clothes.”
Albert thought it couldn't be, but he glanced at the bedroom door behind him at his master's act so suspicious.
“Is this your bedwife now?”
Adam's eyes began to shine with interest in the confrontation between the Prince and Albert.
He wondered who the woman in the room was, lest the Prince let him see so desperately.
Albert said the woman inside was a maid.
But the prince was not a man who would think otherwise about a servant, so he wanted to know more about her.
“What are you talking about, Albert?
Why the hell are you looking at me?
When did you see me do something obscene to the maids?”
Killian was elated by Albert's ridiculous misunderstanding.
Albert looked at the bedroom door once again, looking at the prince, who was so angry that he put his hand on his waist as if he was falsely accused.
“It was the opposite, because the maids who served you always did so.
But nowadays, his actions are very strange.
It’s even more suspicious that you hated a maid but are acting so strangely like this.”

Albert, who was fighting for every inch of ground, closed his mouth when the bedroom door opened.
The arrogant woman who forgot her duty and left late because of her laziness was disgusting.
He also thought he would ask her to explain how she made the noble Prince do what he had never done before, without knowing who she was.
Albert, who was just waiting for the appearance of an invisible maid, was overshadowed by Killian, who blocked the bedroom door with his height, and was speechless when he saw Juliet's ugly appearance.
Then he shook his head from side to side, as if he had come to his senses.
“Oh, Your Highness.
I'm sorry.
I think I've become senile.
I would like to have you with me for a long time, but I feel very sad when I get distracted sometimes.”
She has messy hair, very rumpled clothes, glasses and sticky oil on her face.
No matter how tasteless his master was, it wasn't like him.His master had been without a wife for over a month, so he thought it might be, but as soon as he saw the maid's appearance, he suddenly came to his senses.
‘What is this mistaken thought that did such discourtesy to the noble master?’
Albert stopped looking suspicious and apologized once again, regretting his indecent act.
Killian frowned at Albert's sudden change in mood.
“What?
Why are you suddenly apologizing?” Killian felt even worse at Albert's visibly relaxed look as he looked back.
The moment he tried to argue with Albert without knowing why he was so displeased, Juliet's look left him open-mouthed.
She rushed to leave in her own presumption, and the part of the maid's chest, which was stroking her hair more comfortably than usual, was open.
When his white collarbone and sternum were visible among the clothes that had been undone because his front buttons were less closed, Killian screamed in outrage.
“Where are you coming from like that?
Get into the room quickly!”
Albert nodded, as the prince held the maid on his shoulder and placed her in the room.
He was crazy.
It must have been very senile to doubt the prince and that ugly girl.
‘If His Highness saw how horrible the girl is, how quickly did he send her in?’
While Albert was sweeping his chest, Adam was tilting his head.
In the eyes of the count, who had raised the prince since he was a child, it seemed unusual in itself, even if he showed interest in a maid's clothes.
Killian, who had no idea what Adam was thinking, only returned to him after confirming the closing of the door to the room that the maid had entered with a disapproving face.
“Count, it’s already late at night, so let’s skip tea.
Now that I know you've arrived and we've met, you can leave now.
Let’s talk about the rest after we wake up tomorrow.”
Adam laughed at what was obviously a message to drive him away.
He asked, as he could see that the Prince's gaze was constantly moving towards the room.
“I think it’s my loyalty to you that will quickly fade, but didn’t you wonder why I came running as soon as I got your message?”
Killian hesitated for a moment as the Count asked a curious question, smiling.
Unknowingly looking at the room again, he reluctantly leaned back on the sofa and nodded to let him speak.
When Killian's permission was given, Adam leaned forward with his elbows on his knees.
“Marquis Anais and his daughter arrived in Ricaren yesterday.
His Highness invited Lady Anais to visit the Principality of Bertino at a banquet last winter.”
“Did I do this?” Killian asked back.
As if I had never heard of it.
“Yes.
I heard that Your Highness told Lady Anais that you would be in the Principality of Bertino for a few months on business after April, and you invited her to visit with your family.”
As Killian frowned as he remembered Lady Anais, Adam gently added, “She has brown hair and light blue eyes.”
Despite Adam's kindness, Killian, who remembered only what he wanted to remember, had to search his memory for a long time.
“Lady Anais would be the granddaughter of the Duchess of Dudley… I have no idea.
I don't remember.
Truly.”
“I don't think you could have done that.
But what could I say when they unpacked their things at Castle Calen as an excuse?
It was none other than your invitation.”
“Are they sitting in my castle now?”
“Yes.
They arrived that morning.
That's why I ran away to you, I had no idea how to act.
What was Marquis Anais' idea of visiting Bertino with his daughter?
Lady Anais doesn't care about politics, but the Marquis visited, so it's possible.
I have no idea what he’s thinking.”
