When Victor lowered Scarlett from the cart, he saw Andrei coming out of the store.
"Mrs?"
A few days ago, Victor received a report about Andrei from his men assigned to guard the area:
[Unreasonably strong]
He was a prominent talent who worked for the Domfelt family.
Blight described him as a little cold, but not a bad socialite.
Victor wondered why a fortune manager needed such physical strength, but he didn't have time to think about it.
Now, it was Scarlett's condition that was important.
He knew that staying by her side wouldn't help her calm down.
He let Andrei help her and turned to leave.
But Scarlett turned to the carriage in which Victor was riding.
Andrei looked at her direction and said: “Shall we go up to the second floor?”
"Yes?
Ah, yes.
I'm fine."
Scarlett smiled and got up.
Then she smiled at Andrei and said: “Thank you.”
Seeing Andrei brought her to her senses.
At least Andrei could see her potential.
His presence by choosing to work with her was reassuring.
She felt grateful that there was at least one person willingly staying by her side.
Scarlett sat on the workshop chair for a while, and then she heard the sound of a stick.
A little later, Isak climbed into the workshop with Andrey's help.
“Scarlett”
Isaac spoke with a bright face.
“Master Victor told me to stay here...”
“Ah”
Scarlett quickly wiped away her tears and smiled: “Hello.”
“The workshop smells like our parents’ workshop.”
Isaac spoke in a cheerful tone.
Scarlett took him to the bed to sit and said to Andrei: “Thank you, Andrei.”
Andrei whispered: “If I had known that the main store was dangerous, I would have accompanied you.”
“I didn't expect this to happen in front of everyone.”
Scarlett smiled, pretending to be calm.
Andrei looked upset, but wordlessly returned to the first floor to run the store.
Isaac, as usual, looked around with a bright face.
Scarlett gathered her strength and sat next to him.
She wanted to see his eyes, but knowing how hard he tried to hide it from her, she couldn't say anything.
Isaac carefully held her hand and asked anxiously: “Why are your hands so cold?”
“Ah, I stayed out for a while.”
Scarlett replied in a cheerful tone: “Anyway, let’s go eat delicious food from now on.”
“Delicious food?”
“Yes, and to a perfume shop too.”
“Oh, maybe I could become a perfumer?
I'm very good at smells.”
“Great idea!”
“Isn't it?”
Scarlett felt as if she was suffocating, but she spoke to Isaac enthusiastically, with gestures and expressions that he could not see.
Scarlett fell asleep after midnight, while Isaac sat in the chair with his eyes closed.
The pain in his eyes prevented him from sleeping.
While talking, he touched her hand and felt its constant coldness.
When she talked about food and perfume, she seemed to finally give up on his eyes.
Perhaps Victor or Arnold had told her about his condition.
Isaac clenched his fist tightly.
“I want to see”
While Scarlett was resigned to not hurting him, he was the opposite.
Instead of giving up, his longing increased.
When he felt pain in his eyes, he covered one of them with his hand and covered his mouth with the other.
Scarlett was asleep.
If it makes any sound, you may wake up.
Isaac scratched his cheek, holding back a moan.
But suddenly, he felt as if a knife was cutting his eyes, and a groan leaked out.
Scarlett opened her eyes: “Issac?”
I quickly got off the bed and knelt in front of him: “What’s wrong?
Are you in pain?”
“No, no.
I'm fine.”
“Wait, let me undo the bandage.”
Isaac shook his head, but Scarlett began to undo the bandage.
Isaac stopped moving for fear of hurting her if he resisted.
After a moment, the bandage came off, and Scarlett froze.
Isaac raised his head: “Does it look strange?”
“Say it's not strange, Scarlett...”
Scarlett tried to pretend not to care, but she couldn't breathe.
This was the reality.
Isaac had to hide his pain so she wouldn't feel guilty.
“Scarlett”
Fearing that the ugliness of his eyes would drive her away, Isaac tried to find her hand.
Scarlett reached out and took his hand, reassuring Isaac.
“I feel safe with your hand”
“Scarlett, say something.”
Scarlett laughed when he felt anxious: “Oh, sorry.
Let’s… buy perfume.
Tomorrow.”
Isaac's head tilted for a moment.
“Issac?”
“Wait...”
He touched his eyes and moved towards the window, then carefully opened the curtain.
"Issac?
Why?"
Scarlett asked, but he didn't move.
“Isaac”
“The moon...”
“What?”
“Is the moon there?”
Scarlett raised her head.
As he said, there was a full moon.
“Yes”
“I see it...”
“What?”
“I see the moon”
Scarlett looked at him in shock.
Isaac couldn't take his eyes off the moon, then he looked at her and said: “I see the moonlight, Scarlett.”
Scarlett was startled and asked excitedly: “Do you see the moonlight?”
"Yes!"
“What about other things?”
“So far, only moonlight...”
“Wait!”
Scarlett quickly took Isaac to the first floor.
She lit a fire in the fireplace, which she extinguished in her astonishment.
She raised her head after lighting the fire: “Isak, do you see this?”
Isaac's face, who was looking at the fire, lit up, and he nodded: “Yes, I see the flame.”
“Really...”
Scarlett covered her mouth with her hands.
She ran like a child, turning on everything that could be lit: gas lamps, everything.
When she ran out of fire to light, she ran outside, dragging Issac with her.
Dawn was gradually approaching.
Scarlett pointed to the lights and asked, “This?”
“Yes, I see it”
“And this?”
While she was pulling him and asking, Isaac stopped and laughed cheerfully: “I'm telling you, I really see the light.”
He turned towards the rising sun: “I see the sun too.”
“No, don't look there, it'll hurt your eyes.”
“Oh, right”
Isaac quickly turned around.
Scarlett returned to the store, brought her glasses that she used at work, and covered them with soot to darken them: “Here they are, if you wear them, you won’t see.”
Isaac put on the glasses and looked around, then laughed innocently: “Wow, I can still see the light.”
Scarlett laughed happily, but her laughter turned into bitter crying: “This is wonderful.”
“Scarlett”
“Really cool...”
She couldn't bear the feeling of guilt towards Isaac.
She was afraid she had forced him to do this.
Isaac hugged Scarlett, who burst into tears: “You were right, Scarlett.
As usual, you were right.
Your choice...”
Scarlett cried hard, as if crying was forbidden.
“That's great... and yet, I'm sorry... but I'm so happy... and sorry...”
Isaac calmed Scarlett, who was crying out of guilt and happiness over seeing the light.
The bright moon that had disappeared when he was thirteen reappeared out of the darkness that seemed eternal.
