# Chapter 82
“Bunny, I’ve made my wish!”
“Then you can blow out the candles now!”
“Yup...!”
With a puff of air, Bunny started blowing out the candles one by one, using all his strength.
After blowing out the five candles, Bunny giggled, his face lighting up with joy.
Kiriel, who had set Bunny down, lightly ruffled the child’s hair, making Bunny’s face flush red with happiness.
“Hey, what did you wish for?”
Calvard sneakily approached Bunny and asked.
As Bunny opened his mouth to answer, Allen, standing next to him, was startled and quickly covered Bunny’s mouth, shouting.
“No!
Wishes are meant to be kept secret until the next life!”
“Huh...?
That’s such a hassle.”
“A rule is a rule.”
With his eyes narrowed into sharp slits, Allen glared at Calvard, who, disliking the response, scrunched his face but folded his arms and turned away.
“Tch.
Acting like that with someone as mighty as me…”
“Who’s mighty?”
“Me!
I’m two years older than you!”
“I don’t deal with people whose mental age is younger than mine.”
Allen snorted and turned away, stepping closer to Bunny while ignoring the loud Calvard, who was still grumbling.
He held something out to Bunny.
“Bunny, this is a gift.
I bought it with the pocket money I saved up.
I promised I’d buy you clothes, remember?
I wanted to get you something nice…”
“Do I get to open it?”
“Of course!”
Bunny sat down heavily on the floor and eagerly tore at the wrapping of the box Allen handed him.
Inside was a dress, dark blue as if it had captured the night sky.
It sparkled with delicate silver thread, like stars embroidered into the fabric.
“A really big dress.”
Though, it was a bit too big for Bunny.
Actually, it was a lot too big.
If Bunny wore it, it would cover his face and drag along the floor.
Bunny blinked at the dress, which he couldn’t even see the end of, even when he held it high above his head.
“I was hoping that when you get older and start attending parties, you could wear this dress then.”
“But Bunny’s still so small…”
It seemed like it would take a while before Bunny could fit into the dress, as it was for a grown-up version of him.
“Hmm, I just wanted to give it to you early.
I want you to wear my dress first.
Do you not like it?”
“Oh, this is Madame Oberlot’s dress, right?
I’ve heard the boutique reservations are full until five years from now, so it must’ve been difficult to get it.
You should keep it safe and wear it when you make your debut in society.”
Levon, whose face remained expressionless, clapped his hands and squatted between Bunny and Allen.
Allen’s eyes widened, and he blushed slightly, nodding.
“Ah… I asked in person.
I told her I wanted to give it as a birthday gift.
About… thirty times.”
Bunny’s eyes widened in astonishment.
“A really amazing dress…!”
Madame Oberlot’s dress…!
Blushing with embarrassment, Allen’s face turned slightly red, and Bunny smiled brightly, hugging the dress close to him.
“Allen, thank you!!”
Click.
Click.
Click.
Levon knelt down and quickly snapped a few pictures of Bunny and Allen, still maintaining a neutral expression.
He then took the dress into his arms, as though nothing unusual had happened.
“You’ve received a precious gift.
I’ll keep it safe for you.”
“…Levon.”
Kiriel clicked his tongue and called Levon’s name coldly.
“Yes?”
“Take mine out and bring it here.”
“Yes.”
Levon nodded and quietly stepped back, as Kiriel knelt in front of Bunny, meeting his gaze and handing him a piece of paper.
“A letter?”
“No, a chocolate factory.”
“…A chocolate factory?”
Kiriel nodded.
“I named it ‘Bunny’s Chocolate Factory.’ You can change it if you want.
I’ll make any kind of chocolate you desire.”
Bunny’s eyes sparkled.
Holding the paper, Bunny jumped up and down in place, his face bright with excitement.
He raised his voice.
“Bunny’s chocolate factory?!”
“That’s right.
All the money you make will go into your account.”
“Chocolate!!”
Bunny, fixated on the word ‘chocolate,’ bounced around like a rabbit, then dashed over to Kiriel and gave him a tight hug.
“Daddy, you’re the best!!”
Kiriel’s eyes widened in surprise.
With a slightly stiff face, he slowly raised his hand and gently patted Bunny’s back, his lips curling into a faint smile.
Just then, as Bunny clung to his neck and kicked her legs, a sudden crash of thunder shook the room.
Boom—CRASH!
“Ahhh!”
A bolt of lightning struck the balcony, making Melissa, who was nearby, scream in shock.
Kiriel furrowed his brow, gently pulling Bunny away and standing up.
When he threw open the balcony door, piles of toys and jewels were stacked so high they filled the entire balcony.
Amid the mountain of gifts, there was also a familiar gift box.
Kiriel narrowed his eyes and clicked his tongue.
“Jedrian.”
He had suspected Jedrian might have taken it.
He noticed the theft but pretended not to.
That was the kind of prank Jedrian would pull—take something and eventually return it after some time.
Kiriel had assumed it would be returned, so he hadn’t bothered to take it back himself.
But he hadn’t expected it to come back like this.
“Well?
What’s this?”
“Garbage.
Looks like someone threw trash from the sky.”
Kiriel took the one gift he had received from Bunny and turned away without hesitation.
“Levon, clean all of this up.”
“Yes.”
As Levon bowed lightly and was about to leave, he handed something to Bunny.
“This is my gift, Miss Bunny.
Happy birthday.”
Bunny’s eyes widened when she saw the small gift box with a ribbon that Levon handed her.
“Ah, this is my gift!
Happy birthday!”
“It’s not that big, but it’s for you.
I’m glad to see you’re doing well.
Happy birthday.”
“This is mine.
I made it myself… I hope you like it.
Happy birthday.”
“Oh, this, this is from me!!
It’s not like I gave it to you because I like you, but because I’ve never celebrated a birthday for you before, and I felt bad… Anyway… it’s a gift.
It’s a necklace made of top-tier magic stone… It’s said that wearing it will keep you from getting sick.”
The gifts from Melissa, Roden Heiner, Jessie, and Calvard filled Bunny’s arms.
Bunny silently looked down at the pile of presents in her arms, staring blankly at them.
Until now, Bunny’s birthdays had always been simple affairs, just spending the day eating delicious chocolates with Luriel.
Sometimes, they’d put candles on the chocolates or cookies and share them.
Life with Luriel was never easy.
They barely made enough money to survive day to day.
For Bunny, a birthday was just a happy day to be with Luriel.
Nothing more, nothing less.
It was a rare occasion to have the finest chocolates—nothing like the cheap ones they had, but sweet, delicious, and rich chocolates that melted in your mouth.
“…Mm.”
That’s why Bunny loved chocolate.
It was the sweetest food that could be enjoyed on the happiest day.
And it was a day to share the world’s sweetest food with the person Bunny loved most.
That’s why birthdays were so special.
Bunny’s lips curled into a bright smile, and everyone froze, momentarily stunned by the sight.
She looked so happy that just watching her made everyone feel warm inside.
