“Killian and Irene were not feeling well along the way and returned to the Imperial Castle.
I don’t think you’ve heard of them yet.”
“Obviously, they are not in the carriage.
Liana who was hit by the sword in a diagonal line from neck to stomach, was shaking and vomiting blood.
She didn't even have time to scream at what happened.
Even in such a state, Liana forced herself to turn around and hug the Empress.
“She is a loyal employee.
Empress, the last road will not be lonely.
Many of these people will be your companions.”
“Sir Peterson, stop it.
But she is the Empress of Austern.
It’s very rude.”
“Sir Randolph, you cannot continue acting like this.
I tried to give you such a big chance to kill the Empress, but you can't.
I will take care of it.”
The man named Peterson pointed a sword at the Empress, who stroked the hair of the dead Liana, who had fallen into her lap.
They will never know why Liana died.
While vomiting so much blood, she turned around and wrapped herself around my waist.
They should never know why.
A sword was placed in front of the Empress, who was looking at the dead Liana.
“I'm sorry that the second Queen and Prince Killian left together.
Farewell, Empress.”
Peterson finished his observation and plunged his sword into the Empress's heart.
Cordelia fell, wrapping herself around the kneeling Liana and Killian, who was crouched beneath her.
“Withdrawal.”
Randolph gave an order to his men upon seeing Peterson, who confirmed that the Empress's breathing had stopped, his hand touching her neck.
“Are you going to leave the bodies as they are?”
Randolph responded to Peterson's question: "It's the Empress' dying wish, so I'll have to listen to her."
“We can’t leave the remains of the Empress’ body alone if we want it to look like it was made by the bandits.”
“Just take what you see.”
“Why don’t we burn the wagon?”
Randolph shook his head at Peterson's question.
“The body must be found to prove the Empress’ death.”
“So, the first Queen will be the Empress.
Will Prince Francis finally be crown prince?
I regret that I cannot kill the second queen and Prince Killian.”
Peterson turned and chattered after Sir Randolph mounted his horse.
“Now that the Empress is dead, Prince Killian's crown is out of sight.
The moment the first Queen becomes Empress, Prince Francis will be the direct lineage descendant.
No matter how much His Majesty wants Prince Killian to be Crown Prince, it's all useless if he can't get through congress.”
Their voices became weaker and more distant.
Killian had to bear the weight of death that kept him hidden for two days...

“Here it is!
Here is the Empress’s carriage!”
In the hot early summer, all kinds of insects swarmed around the decomposing bodies of the knights.
The head of the Royal Guard, Louis Gabriel Valerian, left immediately at the emperor's command, he groaned without meaning to as soon as he reached the empress's carriage, which had turned red with the blood of the knights.
The images of dead knights around the carriage showed how desperate their resistance was.
Count Louis Valerian crossed himself and stood in front of the carriage, the interior appearing without the door.
Inside the carriage was the body of the Empress, who was lying face down, wrapped around a dead servant.
“Did you find Prince Killian’s body?”
Count Valerian nervously looked around the Empress's body and shouted, "Not near the carriage!"
Count Valerian cast an embarrassed look at his subordinate's report.
After the Empress's group failed to appear at the border, a magical message was sent from the Imperial Castle in Austern.
Claudius, the emperor who was worried about Killian's group, urgently sent a group of knights, led by Count Valerian, the empress's cousin. As his premonition suggested, a pile of bodies was found in the forest leading to the border.
Due to the destruction of the Magic Square, the road to the border was full of merchants and travelers, but this was a deserted road.
It seemed that the Empress's group made the knights enter a path where people wouldn't go, to avoid mountain animals and bandits.
Or there was a possibility that someone had deliberately led them here.
Count Valerian carefully examined the bodies after reciting the words of apology, thinking that the reason the two women fell and died was to protect the Prince.
They barely moved the maid's rigid body away, but the body of the Prince they were waiting for was not found.
“They didn’t kidnap His Highness, did they?” One of the knights asked, searching the knights' bodies again.
“Once, politely take care of the Empress’ body.
I can’t let her stay here.” Louis ordered, looking sadly at Cordelia, his maternal cousin.
The knights knelt in front of the Empress's body in courtesy and carefully pulled the body out of the carriage.
“Oh, my God, Your Excellency.
Look here!” The knight who was carefully lifting the Empress' body exclaimed in surprise.
Hurriedly looking into the carriage at his scream, Valerian found Killian crouched on the ground, unconscious.
“Your Highness, Killian…” Surprised, Louis hurried to hug little Killian.
“The Empress must have hidden Her Highness in her dress.
That’s why she died lying face down…”
The knight muttered, feeling sorry for it.
Louis looked at the small tear-streaked face and wrapped him in his cloak.
“The first division will take the Empress’ body with me and return to the Imperial Castle first.
I want the rest of you to gather the bodies of the knights and return.”
Louis ran back to the village near the border, carrying the stunned prince.
After renting the inn and hiding the Prince completely in case of possible danger, he ordered the knights to call a doctor.

The young doctor who was dragged into the inn by the suddenly arriving knights carefully examined the sleeping boy.
“He just fell asleep.
There’s nothing wrong, so don’t worry.” The young doctor spoke, and watched as Louis gasped in relief as he said nothing was wrong.
“I think you’d better leave town immediately.”
Louie drew his sword with a nervous expression at the young doctor's meaningful words.
“Do you know something?”
Dr.
Paulo grabbed his examination bag, pushing back the sharp sword hanging in front of his neck.
“No matter how peaceful it is, but people living in border cities have no choice but to be sensitive to changes in their surroundings.
A few days before the Empress's procession passed, suspicious people began to enter the village.
They haven't left the city yet.
I don't know the details, but if you don't want to get involved in dangerous things, you'd better leave the city at dawn.”
At the end of the comment, the young doctor left the room.
He wanted to investigate the suspicious people left in the village, but as the doctor said, the first thing he had to do was return to the Imperial Castle safely.
Louis looked at the sleeping Killian and ordered the knights standing guard outside the room to call the underboss.
Tamot, the deputy chief of the Imperial Guard, entered the room.
“Did you call me?”
“Some suspicious people have been in town for a few days.”
“Suspicious people?
We’ve seen it all before, but nothing unusual.”
“It is difficult for us outsiders to distinguish between villagers and non-residents.
As soon as the prince wakes up, I will take Henry and Vale and leave for the imperial castle immediately.
You take the Empress and do the rest of the work and take the rest of the men back.”
“Won’t it be dangerous?”
