The principality of Bertino
–
Unlike the high-ranking aristocrats and royal family, who stayed in the local lord's castle and were treated well when they visited the area, Killian was very irritated by these things.
It was his way of traveling to suppress his subordinates, not informing the lord or local nobility of his visit in advance, and instead reserving an inn like this.
But the prince's visit would have been brought to the lord's ears from the moment the spectacular procession arrived, and the lord and his entire family would soon visit the inn.
Killian bluffed as if noticing Sir Albert's idea.
“If this trip doesn't keep me from being disturbed by Count Baden, you'll really have to be ready for retirement.”
Sir Albert, who had been trained as a butler and grand chamberlain since he was a child, pretended not to hear the words the prince often uttered and opened his mouth to help him understand his situation.
“But, Your Highness, since the noble royal family has visited, you have to understand the mind of the count who comes to say hello…”
“Stop.
I am willing to give a hundred concessions if he comes with a true heart, but I cannot forgive him for saying that they are proofs of loyalty, from his first daughter to the youngest, who has not started menstruating.”
Albert fell silent when he tried to complain, thinking about what had happened last time on the way to the Principality of Bertino.
“How is Jeff?”
“Burns on the chin and neck are very painful.
I don't think he will be able to serve you for now, so my personal servant will have to serve you.
Are you going to be okay?”
“For what?
Why should I use your servant when I have my own maid?
Tell her to hurry up and draw a bath.”
“Are you serious, Your Highness?”
“Do I look like I’m making a joke?”
“But, but…” Albert looked back at the maid from Bertino's mansion who he had hurriedly sought out, as the Prince walked away without looking back.
Sir Albert's order came as she tried to stay still, pretending not to know, and she wanted to believe that it wouldn't be what she thought it was.
“What are you doing?
Why don’t you go up there now and prepare His Highness’s bath?!” At Sir Albert's cry, Juliet grumbled again at Manny, who had sent her to this country.
‘No, should I curse the prince, who should drink tea in the carriage?’
After cursing both of them sincerely, she quickly adapted to reality as usual.
‘I haven’t seen him once or twice, so I have nothing to do with him.
Yeah, no big deal.
It's nothing.
I'm just helping him take a shower.
Juliet, you are Prince Bertino's maid.
You are a professional woman.
Take pride in your work like a professional.
‘
Self-sufficient again, Juliet looked at Sir Albert.
“Mr.
Grand Chamberlain, are you looking for a new maid?
And when will Jeff get better?”
“Well, they say Mrs.
Auguste is eagerly looking for a maid now, so she will come if hired.
I'm actually not sure about Jeff.
The burns aren't a problem, but the problem is his broken leg when he fell out of the wagon while throwing himself in pain during first aid.
On each occasion he has rolled in front of a rider's horse and been kicked, and his injury is very serious.
The doctor advised him to go to Vicern and receive sacred treatment.
I will ask the Prince if he wants to get a new servant again or wait until Jeff comes back, because even if he receives holy treatment, he will have to be stable for a few months.”
Juliet's shoulders slumped.
It seemed like there was no way out of this dark reality for now.
Who would have thought that a hot cup of tea would cause such a huge accident?
All she could hope for was a quick hiring of the new employee and a quick return to cozy Harrods Street.
She writhed up the stairs to the second floor, saddened by her misfortune, her steps forced and heavy.
After a while, Juliet, standing in the bathroom, looked hopelessly at the steaming bathtub and prayed for the time to come. She sprinkled the bath powder that the prince loved so much with hope, but it was different from the one Juliet knew, and the bubbles didn't happen at all.
The clear, still water was silent.
Juliet, who wanted to hide the Prince's naked body with lots of foam, was frustrated.
The refreshing scent of bath powder, reminiscent of a green forest, was so thick and heavy that Juliet wanted to hold her nose, to the point of exposing an empty floor.
Her head hurt from the terrible smell of the bathroom, but that didn't matter to her.
In the bedroom, although the Prince was walking around naked, if she avoided eye contact, it would have been possible.
But now there was no helping it.
‘I have to help the prince take a bath in this little room, how can I avoid it?’
It was impossible to do with a sober mind.
She preferred to endure this time in a dazed state of mind under that strong and smelly bath powder.
If he scolded her, she would plead, “I didn’t know because it was the first time.”
Snap.
Finally, it was time for destiny.
The tired prince, who was waiting for the announcement that everything was ready, entered the door.
“What the hell!
Why does it take so long to prepare a bath…?
What the hell is that smell?”
Her face showed signs of hope, even though she was afraid of being scolded, when Killian hated the smell in the bathroom.
“Your Highness, I am sorry.
My hands slipped and I spilled a lot of bath powder.
The smell is horrible.
Why don’t you wash your hands and feet today and take a shower tomorrow?”
Juliet, who contained what she wanted to say:
‘Because you didn’t move in the carriage, you didn’t sweat’
, he asked him softly, but the prince simply ordered, without pretending to listen: “Bring the bathtub out.”
As expected, if it was inevitable anyway, she had to adapt well.
Even if she avoided today, it would be tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, and if she avoided the fire falling in front of her eyes, there would be more urgent things to do.
As it was not worth deliberately spilling too much bath powder and the bathtub having to be dragged out, Juliet regretted it deeply.
She secretly glanced at the prince standing with his arms crossed, then opened the door to the hall and spoke to the knights guarding the entrance.
“Well, knights, I'm sorry.
His Highness needs a bath, and can you move the bathtub to the living room?”
When they went to call the servants who were doing the chores, they didn't know what else to listen to before the water got cold, so the knights were unhappy with her as soon as they saw her, but she had to apologize to them.
Her frightening face was so distraught that she managed to speak, but the knights turned their heads in silence.
“How much longer do I have to wait to shower now?”
As soon as the prince's displeased call came out of the bathroom, whether he knew the situation outside or not, the knights who pretended not to hear rushed into the room.
Juliet pouted as she watched the knights set down the huge bathtub in front of the frowning prince who walked out into the living room with his arms crossed.
This was how things were supposed to be, he was so short.
