The principality of Bertino
–
Julieta realized that she was living in a different world than when she was Jenna.
The Magic Square!
Riding alongside the horse seat of the most expensive of the colorful carriages lined up in front of Asta Castle, Juliet drove for an hour out of the castle and arrived at a small castle surrounded by moats.
Entering the castle annex, she entered the standard complex with the last member of the Prince's party.
The scenery around her changed with a bit of dizziness as she waited in the Magic Square with the other servants and maids.
She was standing there with her mouth open and mute, and she heard a sneer coming from the side.
“You, the fat and ugly girl, came into the world.
You know, you’ve been hanging around this expensive Magic Square.”
From day one, it was Jeff, the prince's servant who scolded her and frowned at her for being ugly.
However, as it was a trivial matter that didn't hurt at all, Juliet looked at Jeff and climbed onto the stool of the carriage the prince was in.
She turned her eyes around as she watched Jeff, who followed her from behind, in a sullen manner and was caught in a scolding by Sir Albert.
As she felt when she got in line at Praça Mágica, the group size for a member of the royal family's trip was enormous.
About a dozen carriages, of unknown purpose, were lined up, and the number of knights on guard and servants and maids to attend them numbered in the dozens.
When she finished being nervous on her first trip and surprised by the large size, the carriages started.
Juliet was excited because she hadn't seen the prince in the carriage yet.
She was thinking that she was living comfortably these days.
She perfectly forgot what she had called Manny's conspiracy before and began to enjoy the scenery around her.
For Juliet, who only lived in the busiest city on the continent, the capital of the Austern Empire, the landscape was now new and beautiful.
Although she couldn't afford to travel abroad, she was so excited that she was humming a happy tune without knowing it.
It was the beginning of summer and the weather was so bright that she couldn't open her eyes properly.
The driver, in his fifties, was very kind.
As he drove for another two hours, talking to her because she was about the same age as his youngest daughter, a small window opened behind the horse seat that led to the interior of the carriage.
“His Highness is wanting tea, so prepare it.”
The small window closed as soon as the conversation ended, as if he didn't want to bump into her face.
Juliet, without knowing it, stuck her tongue out at the closed window.
She refused to deal with him, but it was an inadvertent act in Jeff's sassy behavior.
She poured the tea leaves carefully into the kettle net inside.
Then she unbuttoned two buttons on the front of her maid uniform.
Juliet, careful not to break the unimaginably expensive glass bottle, emptied the small bag she had placed among her belongings and hung the rope tight around her neck to keep it in her loose maid suit.
The glass bottle, which was not light, caused pain in his neck and the front part of his chest burst, but it didn't matter.
Taking out the precious glass bottle that had been held in her arms as a ritual offering, Juliet carefully opened the lid of the trembling carriage and poured water into the kettle.
The coachman, who heard the order to prepare tea, slowly slowed down the carriage, so that she could carry out her task of preparing tea safely even in the moving carriage.
Juliet, silently cursing the prince to her heart's content, who just HAD to drink tea from a luxurious china cup while traveling, poured the tea into a gold china cup and placed the cup on a saucer as it appeared to have brewed properly.
Then she knocked on the carriage window.
‘What is this?’
Juliet could swear to heaven that she had no desire to avenge Jeff.
It was bad luck and inevitably doom for the ill-tempered Jeff that the slow, well-traveled carriage swayed. It wouldn't have happened if Jeff had shown up immediately and received the cup of tea when she called.
In the moment of delay before Jeff finally opened the window, picked up the glass and turned around, taking his time as if he was trying to do something mischievous, the carriage jolted loudly if it was caught by a hole.
With that, hot tea was poured over him.
Because of Jeff, who was throwing away the cup of tea and shouting with his chin and face covered by his hands, the carriage carrying the Prince stopped.
The procession quickly turned chaotic as the escort knights surrounded the carriage to protect the prince from the sudden commotion.
Sir Albert, who was in another carriage, ran in fright, and while the captain of the knights looked for the prince's safety, Juliet jumped off the bench and tried to turn aside to look inside.
It wasn't her fault, but as it was her first mission, Juliet, who was afraid of setbacks, approached the open door to see the situation inside the carriage.
She lowered her head over those looking after the prince's safety and met the gaze of the prince who was sitting there elegantly, as if he had nothing to do with Jeff, who was covering his face and crying.
She had been working as his maid in Bertino's mansion for months, but Juliet, still burdened with facing the Prince, frowned at the series of misfortunes.
The prince's casual gaze changed when he saw that her face was crooked as if she was chewing a very bitter persimmon as soon as she looked into his eyes.
Juliet hurried to turn around, but at the same time she received the prince's stern order, seeing his eyes curve slightly, as if he had seen something funny.
“Take Jeff away and heal him, and you, come in the carriage.”
Juliet realized that her pleasant carriage ride was over.
Once again, the conspiracy of the dimension manager, the stray dog, was clear.
As soon as the Prince's order was issued, Jeff, who was still crying, was taken away and the crowd quickly dispersed, leaving the area around the carriage empty in the blink of an eye.
Juliet couldn't stay any longer, seeing the Prince leaning over and looking at her with his legs crossed, as if he wanted her to enter quickly.
It was assumed to be Sir Albert's skill, as he had even taken care of the tea box.
As soon as Juliet carefully leaned back on the edge of the velvet chair, from which it seemed impossible to escape if she leaned back, instructions came from the prince's mouth.
"Tea."
‘Yes, I will give it to you.
If you want a cup of tea, it's Juliet's duty to make it immediately!
I will prepare it immediately.’
Julieta turned around and began to unbutton the front of her dress.
"What are you doing?" The Prince's shrill voice, observing Juliet's actions, sounded inside the carriage.
Juliet, who was stunned enough to cause convulsions with that unexpected anger, managed to recover her heart and then shot back without realizing: “You asked for tea!”
“But why did you untie the buttons on your clothes?”
Juliet, who longed to think that the Prince might have misunderstood, even shook his hand and insisted on her innocence.
“No, that's, uh, don't misunderstand!
I didn't mean to take off my clothes and run to you, but I keep that expensive glass bottle here.
If you keep your eyes closed, I’ll take it off.”
