Bertino Mansion on Harrods Street
–
The message arrived that the prince, who rarely visited due to his busy new business, would visit his mansion for the first time in a long time.
Anna, exhausted from cleaning to greet the owner all morning, threw a mop that was used to clean the hallway window on the second floor.
“Oh, this drives me crazy.
How long do I have to do this?”
A month ago, Anna, who successfully kicked Nicole, put on a dress and makeup and was waiting for the butler's call.
But when Moira arrived and went to the Prince's room, she wasn't called for a while.
She felt strange, went to the head chambermaid and heard the surprising news that the new, ugly maid would serve the prince.
Anna, who was stunned, protested fiercely, but only heard the cold words of leaving the mansion if she didn't like the position of a servant.
Anna, who had packed her belongings angrily, unpacked them again.
It was because she thought that the Prince would expel Juliet if he saw her ugly face.
However, a month had already passed.
The order to expel the ugly woman had not yet come from the prince's mouth, who still visited Bertino's mansion, although it was becoming rarer than before.
Anna muttered, looking at the mop that had fallen on the slippery floor, "Yes... because a new maid hasn't come in yet, if she leaves, they will have no choice but to call me back this time."
Anna anguished thinking about how to get the girl out of this house.
Just in time, she saw a large body walking up the stairs.
In a black maid dress, Anna, who had been looking at the voluminous figure in a brown maid dress, naturally followed her back to the Prince's room.
After four months, the prince's room was no different from what it used to be.
The prince's favorite musk was veiled in the room, and the bed, which occupied one side of the spacious room, was covered with black silk sheets for the owner to stay in today.
Anna, imagining herself lying with the Prince on those luxurious sheets, smiled at Juliet, who came out of the bathroom after cleaning it.
“I wanted to know if I could help you.”
Juliet's face was frowning and she smiled pretentiously, as if she never wanted to take out the other woman's eyes.
The prince's bedroom was a place where no one except the head maid and Juliet could come and go.
On normal days, when the prince didn't visit, it was locked with a key and only the two of them had the key.
When cleaning in the morning and evening, two maids under Juliet's supervision came in and cleaned, and Anna was not included in the task.
Furthermore, everything used in the Prince's room had to pass through Juliet's hands to enter the room.
The tea leaves that the prince would drink could only be brought by Sir Albert himself from the imperial city, and for the bedding and clothes that touched the prince's body there was a separate maid, as Juliet instructed her.
In other words, if something happened to the prince, Juliet, who was in charge, would be punished.
“Did you get permission?”
When Juliet asked, Anna responded with a groan, “Hey, not long ago, I was doing what you're doing.
And if you're talking about permission, it's ridiculous.
I didn’t come in when no one else was here, but I came in like this when you were here.”
Anna quickly glanced around the room, wondering if there was any way to expel the girl.
Juliet replied, as if she had sensed Anna's thoughts, "If there is anything wrong with His Highness in this room today, remember, Anna, that you are to blame."
Anna had to bow to Juliet's threats before she could do anything.
She had felt last time, contrary to her boring appearance, Juliet was actually a cunning bitch.
“I'm leaving now.
I just wanted to see this room for the first time in a long time.”
Anna's quick exit from the room, like a girl who had committed a crime, seemed to indicate that she was destined to commit an accident.
Leaving the prince's room, Anna picked up the mop from the hallway floor again and went down to the first floor without even looking at the window that she had stopped cleaning.
Anna, who was trying to figure out how to punish Juliet, finally saw Moira, who walked in alone.Seeing Moira arriving earlier than usual, Anna threw the mop she was holding in the corner and ran to greet her.
“I haven’t seen you in a long time, ma’am.
How have you been?”
Moira nodded curtly at the greeting from the maid, whom she had not seen since being severely reprimanded by the Prince a few months ago.
“Yes, it has been a long time.
I thought you were kicked out of the mansion, but I guess that wasn’t true.”
As Moira looked around for the head maid who was supposed to be waiting for her, Anna picked up her umbrella and hat and said, “I'll tell the head maid you're here.
I think she has something urgent to do.”
In Bertino's mansion, where there was no resident butler, the maid was almost taking over the duties of butler.
“Call Julie.”
“Oh, Julie told me to serve you today,” replied Anna, who handed the hat and umbrella to Moira's personal maid as she led the way towards the room where Moira would be staying.
Anna decided to expel Juliet today.
If she drove Moira away with her, she might have a chance to serve the Prince tonight.
Moira bit her lip and began to think without knowing what Anna was thinking.
Four months passed while she was the Prince's mistress.
In a secret club of aristocratic men, it was said that bets were being made on when Moira would be abandoned by him.
For more than a fortnight after her last night with the Prince, she could barely sleep due to anxiety and nervousness.
When the invitation to Bertino's mansion arrived last night, she could barely fall asleep with relief.
Moira, who woke up early in the morning, had a fragrant massage all day to calm her nervousness.
But as soon as the moment arrived when it would not seem bad to the Prince, she arrived at Bertino's mansion.
She nervously held her hands as she walked down the familiar hallway.
‘How long can I come and go from this mansion?’
Moira didn't think about arriving earlier than usual, and felt uncomfortable that no one came out to greet her.
‘Julie noticed something and refused to serve me since I’m about to leave here?’
Entering the designated room, Moira took off her clothes under the care of Anna and her personal maid.
Moira entered the scented bath without noticing Anna who was looking at her naked body with her eyes slightly open, staring as her maid washed her.
“Anna, why did Julie ask you to accompany me?”
Entering the bathroom at Moira's question, Anna replied politely, hiding a dark smile.
“I don't know.
Now I have no choice but to do as she says because she is in a higher position than me.
But when I asked, ‘How can I serve a noble lady as a cleaning lady,’ she said, ‘I don’t mind, because she won’t last long.’”
"What?"
Anna's response seemed to be the reality she was worrying about.
“Why did Julie say that?
She's not the type of person who would say that without thinking.
Did the Prince say anything?”
At Moira's shaky question, Anna jumped, clasping her hands.
“He must not have said anything.
His Highness is not the one who would say that to a maid.
I know for sure because I served him much longer than I did Julie.
Furthermore, at least three times she saw the prince himself.”
“Then why the hell did she say that?”
“Julie has changed a lot since becoming the Prince's maid.
You may have missed the change of knowing who she is, but we all do.
Julie always calls you names.”
“She calls me names?”
“Yes.
She once laughed when she cleaned the room before you arrived, saying you didn't know who it was because you were asking for a red sheet when he didn't even have to come.”
Saying what the maids had been whispering among themselves as if Julie had said those things, Anna lowered her head slightly to hide the tip of her mouth that was rising.
Moira jumped out of the bath, speechless.
