# Chapter 10
---
Episode 10
Anita greeted me with a smile on her face.
"hello.
"This is Anita Wörøny."
The director half-heartedly pointed to the chair and asked again.
"Who doesn't know the Böröni family in Chavalon?
Why is there no answer?
"Have you ever held a mop?"
When we sat down on the chair, the director spoke slowly.
"Don't be sad.
Even so, I'm a person who has been selecting people for 30 years.
"It's not like I've seen you in such a situation once or twice."
Phew.
Pure white cigarette smoke obscured Anita's vision.
“But it has to be useful.
What if I find you a good job?
I'm lucky if I can escape after not even lasting a week.
What if I can't kill my pride and end up fighting?
My company is the one being harmed.
"Confidence is falling."
"yes I understand."
"Well, since it's Vlad's performance, I'll do my best.
So I grabbed a mop...
."
Just before the director finished speaking, Anita got up from her chair and walked to the side of the table.
"Excuse me?"
She untied the navy blue ribbon around her neck.
Because it is wide, I folded it several times a few times to get the perfect size for use.
Anita wet the ribbon with water from the toilet and cleaned the boss's desk.
And then, as if nothing had happened, I sat down on the chair again.
"...one."
The director, with half-closed eyes, looked Anita up and down and said.
"The bed will also be uncomfortable.
It's so cheap you'll be lucky if your back doesn't hurt the next day...
."
"I once slept on the floor for a whole week.
During those 15 days, I filled my stomach only with dried meat.
I know how to dust a dresser and iron the wrinkles on clothes.
Isn't that enough?
There were many difficulties before the Böløni family settled in Shavalon.
Among them, the process of my father inheriting my grandfather's property was particularly difficult.
In the property inheritance process, he was falsely accused of forging his grandfather's will and evading a large sum of money in taxes.
That winter, I had to survive in the house of one of my father's acquaintances, eating and drinking.
Even though I was young, I tried not to be intimidated by helping with small household tasks so as not to be a burden on my father.
Her father didn't stop Anita, saying, "In general, it's best to have all the experiences first."
Maybe you didn't know the day would come when you would be useful in this way.
The director stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray and gestured slightly.
"...I'll see you tomorrow morning.
"I'll give you the job then."
"yes.
Thank you."
Anita, who came out of the principal's office, breathed a small sigh of relief.
'Ha. thank God...
.
"This will take care of our immediate room and board needs."
I felt like I needed to somehow save up the remaining money and buy a set of maid uniforms.
Anita returned to the mansion holding a large suitcase of luggage in her arms.
***
Early the next morning.
As soon as she arrived at the human resources center, the director's secretary led Anita to the director's office.
"You're here."
widely.
The director threw a piece of paper onto the table.
Is this the place in the mansion where she will get a job?
Anita carefully unfolded the paper he threw.
Director Melkin Schwager>"It's not a bad opportunity.
There are many beautiful women in the world.
"But it's rare to find a woman as elegant and beautiful as you."
A cabaret is an entertainment establishment where you can enjoy drinks while watching dancers dance.
Since I wasn't recommending a career as a chef, I intended for her to become a dancer.
And that doesn't mean anything good.
"Hey, girl.
Do you think you can safely work as a maid with that face?"
Anita continued to breathe calmly.
'How should I refuse?'
Now she desperately needed the director's help.
I know it would be foolish to leave a room simply because it is unpleasant.
My father said.
If you are desperate, throw away things like pride.
The thing about pride is that it's not too late to take care of it once you get what you want.
"It's important not to offend the director.
Being introduced to things that have nothing to do with me...
.'
It was then.
Sigh.
The door to the director's office, which was tightly closed, opened.
The director, who smoked heavily, shouted with a wrinkled face.
"Hey, what's this?
I made it clear not to enter without permission...
."
"Hello, Boss Olaf."
It was a clear greeting.
The steps to the seat next to Anita are as natural as running water.
The man with his forehead clearly exposed was very familiar to her.
What is this person here like?
“Who… “Are you there?”
Perhaps because the man was so well dressed, the director cautiously opened his mouth before exhaling cigarette smoke.
"here.
"This is my master's business card."
He absentmindedly accepted the business card the man handed him.
Soon, when they saw the owner of the business card, their eyes widened as if they were about to roll on the floor.
"What is this...
The name written on this business card, no, the name is really...
."
"It's real."
The man, who gave a quick yes, smiled slightly at Anita.
"It's been a while, Miss Anita.
"You've grown into a beautiful young lady while I've never seen you."
The man's identity was Jill, advisor to the Duke of Edenbahir.
Anita received the question with a somewhat dazed feeling.
"It's been a while, Jill."
However, Jill seemed to have brought more surprising news than her appearance.
"I'm glad you look healthy.
"Lancelus is waiting for you."
"...
Lancelot is waiting for you?
"Where?"
"Is there anything else besides the Wöröni residence?
"I was a little late because you had to finish all the outstanding work and move on."
It arrived a little late.
The implications of these words could not have been clearer.
This probably means he came to visit after hearing the news of his father's disappearance.
When Anita couldn't find a suitable answer, Jill gently comforted her, as if she could clearly see her inner thoughts.
"You don't need to worry about finding a job." Lancelus seemed to have already thought of that.
It was Lancelo who took time out of his busy schedule to come visit him.
Maybe, just maybe, today could be my last chance to meet you.
As an employee, you will not be able to maintain a relationship with the heir of the Duke's family.
Once my thoughts reached this point, I no longer felt sorry for this place.
"It's okay.
"Let's go back to the mansion first."
"I'll take care of you.
Oh, the director?
"I'll get that back."
Jill took Lancelo's business card from the empty-eyed director.
“Although it’s only noon, thank you for taking care of our Miss Anita.
My master will reward you soon.
Please wait for a call."
“Yes Yes.
Of course.
Hey!
The guests are leaving here.
Bring Goi!
No no.
"I'll take care of you."
The director hurriedly came out with his face full of expectation and led the two out of the personnel center.
He did not forget to ask Anita for forgiveness just before parting.
"Miss, please forget that previous suggestion.
I think I confused it with the other one.
I definitely found a good place last night... haha.
I'm really sorry."
Anita didn't mock the director who was busy telling obvious lies.
Instead, he smiled softly and comforted her.
"Because anyone can make mistakes.
"Next time I see you, I can take a look at that good work you mentioned, right?"
"Of course!
Here is my business card.
If you need help, please contact us at any time.
Anytime, really.
I think I was quite surprised when I received the Duke of Edenbahir's business card.
'I benefited a little from Lancelot.'
I will be able to find a solid job next time.
Anita carefully kept the director's business card inside her wallet.
Jill, who helped Anita board, called to her as she drove the steam car.
"Miss Anitta."
"Yes."
"I know this is presumptuous, but...
Please don't set too many boundaries with Edenbahir."
How presumptuous.
Isn't it a request that makes you feel sorry and grateful at the same time?
Anita, who vaguely realized the intention of the question, asked back cautiously.
"Was Lancelot waiting for me?"
Did you come to Edenbahir looking for help?
"no."
After an embarrassingly firm denial, Jill added an afterthought.
"He was sure she wouldn't visit Edenbahir."
Anita looked ahead with a somewhat strange feeling.
I've known Lancelot for 10 years.
With the exception of the last two years, we have spent every winter in Edenbahir, so it would not be strange to say that we knew each other intimately.
'It's been a long time since we got together.'
As I think of his face, my shoulders begin to tense with tension.
Four hours isn't a very long distance, but we haven't seen each other in two years.
To be more precise, he was closer to not having met.
Because Anita unilaterally avoided meeting him.
There is only one reason.
Because I want to give up my feelings for him.
'I'm not sorry.'
Anita was confident that she knew her fractions.
The fact that she had a relationship like Lancelot and Claunia in her life can be seen as lucky beyond all odds.
These were friends you wouldn't get unless you became a hero to save the country in your past life.
So, you have to stop exactly at that line.
'A good friend I think about sometimes.'
A friend who reminds me of childhood nostalgia.
A friend who only has good memories.
A friend who feels comfortable and not awkward whenever and wherever we meet.
Lancelo Edenbahir and Anita Wöröni had to have this type of relationship.
This was Anita's only desire and infinite desire.
Remain a friend of Lancelot.
Avoidance was a choice for this greed and desire.
During the two years that she did not see Lancelot, Anita devoted all her attention to helping her father with his work.
When I really missed Lancelot's voice, I took out the letters we exchanged once a season and read them slowly.
Perhaps thanks to this effort, my heart no longer seemed to explode or feel nervous when I thought of Lancelot's face.
A way to turn off the body and blind the mind.
After all, it wasn't a bad policy.
"quality.
"How did you know I was in the human resources center?"
"I was lucky.
"I arrived shortly after you left."
This means you were followed.
Meanwhile, they reached their destination.
Anita took a deep breath and crossed the garden to the mansion.
His unstoppable footsteps stopped in front of the room that was once his room.
The door that should have been firmly closed was left open at an angle.
Anita slowly pushed the door ajar.
The back is visible.
The back seemed broader and more robust than Anita remembered.
The blonde was sitting on a half-rotted wooden chair spread across the kitchen, looking out the window.
The luxurious blue scarf on the chair clearly revealed the man's identity as Lancelot Edenbahir.
In a relaxed sitting position with legs crossed, no emotions other than boredom can be seen.
The man, Lancelot, slowly turned his head and their eyes met.
"Anita Wörøny."
A heavy, solid call pierced Anita's ears.
It was a voice that could be heard more clearly because it could not exist here.
"Come here."
